About Sara Blackwell
Founder of Protecting U.S. Workers and advocate for displaced American employees
Sara Blackwell
Founder & Employment Law Advocate
Sara Blackwell is the driving force behind Protecting U.S. Workers, a Not For Profit Organization dedicated to defending displaced US citizen workers. She brings deep experience from both sides of the legal aisle — having worked for large defense firms and for the United States of America for most of her legal career.
She currently teaches Employment Law at the University of South Florida in Tampa and is a published author. Her work focuses on helping American workers understand their rights when facing termination, particularly in situations involving offshoring or replacement by foreign visa holders.
Our Mission
Protecting U.S. Workers was founded to give displaced American employees a voice and a resource. The organization offers free confidential reviews of termination agreements and helps workers evaluate whether they may have claims against their employers. Through form letters, community calls, and direct advocacy, we work to push back against practices that unfairly displace US citizen workers.
Why This Work Matters
Too many American workers sign away their rights without fully understanding the consequences. When companies replace domestic employees with non-American foreign labor — often citing cost savings — affected workers may not realize they have options. Sara Blackwell and Protecting U.S. Workers aim to change that by providing information, legal guidance, and a platform for workers to share their stories and organize collectively.
